Ms. Doty chose the Athabascans to represent in this exhibit because they live in central Alaska, not the frozen-over far north, so we can include plants. They also have interesting customs which are represented by the sculptures.
Work on the Athabascan Village commenced in 2013 and we expect the last sculptures to arrive in 2020.
