Here at Na ‘Āina
Kai’s shoreline you may be greeted by one of the island’s
indigenous or exotic birds, such as Laysan albatross, or perhaps
our native nene, the Hawaiian goose, will welcome you from Makai
Marsh – a waterfowl haven created by a spring-fed stream and
three up-canyon ponds. Spend some quiet moments at the lacing edge
of the surf, or pause on a bench at the ponds in Makai Meadow.
Enjoy this well-tended lawn by the sea, perfect for relaxing with
the lulling backdrop of the crashing waves
